Music has big influence on skaters. It constitutes a major part of their life. It increases their desire for skateboarding. Skaters like to listen to energetic music - music that contains the young man's surplus of energy. Skateboarding originated from that energy. The usual genres are hard core, punk rock, hip hop, ska etc. In many ways skaters combine music with skateboarding, and this is where skateboarding becomes a form of art, like dancing, an individual expression and an obsession.
